EMS summoned to Summerfield home after woman attacked

A Marion County EMS crew responded to a home in Summerfield after a woman was reportedly attacked.

The woman was attempting to gather her belongings late Saturday night at at home on SE 101st Court Road when she was attacked by a woman later identified as 35-year-old DM Proctor of Summerfield, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She fled the scene.

The woman who was attacked said she had been “jumped.” She had suffered scuff marks on both of her knees “that appeared to be fresh,” the report said. She also suffered a wound on her right shoulder that was bleeding. Her glasses had been knocked off her face and in the process one of the lenses had been dislocated from the frame. The woman said she’d only met Proctor once but was able to identify her from a photo.

Others who had been present during the altercation said that the woman had come to the home and began arguing with Proctor, who responded by attacking the woman. The witnesses tried to stop Proctor, who left and went to her home where she was arrested.

She is facing charges of battery and criminal damage to property. She was booked at the Marion County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
