A 63-year-old woman was seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash at U.S.-41 and Walkerbilt Road in Collier County on Wednesday evening.
The crash happened at approximately 5:56 p.m.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, the woman, driving a white 2014 GMC Yukon, was attempting to turn left onto Walkerbilt Road.
A red 2021 Ford Mustang, driven by a 64-year-old woman, was traveling north on U.S.-41 when the other vehicle’s driver turned in front of it.
The front of the Mustang then collided with the GMC.
FHP troopers said the GMC then rotated, overturned and collided with a light pole. The 63-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The 64-year-old woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital as well.
According to FHP, the crash remains under investigation.
