The storm that moved through parts of North Central Florida on Thursday claimed the life of a landscape worker.
Ocala Police Department officials told TV20 that 37-year-old Hunter Parks was killed when a tree fell on him during a storm around 3 p.m. along Southwest 46th Avenue, south of Silver Springs Boulevard.
A co-worker told police he and Parks took shelter under the tree. They heard it make a cracking sound and tried to run. He got away, but Parks died at the scene.
No one else was injured.
