Walt Disney World has been targeted in a lawsuit after a man was hurt going down a high-speed water slide at the Blizzard Beach theme park, according to court records filed on Thursday.

The lawsuit claims that the man — identified as ES — had visited the park back in July 2021, opting to try out the Downhill Double Dipper slide.

Per the lawsuit, S weighed around 334 pounds at the time, which exceeded the slide’s weight limit of 300 pounds.

Despite that, S got on the ride, going down the slide in an inner tube, court records reveal.

“While sliding down… (S) became momentarily airborne as a result of the rides’ ‘exhilarating speeds’ and design, resulting on Disney’s inner tube becoming forcibly, suddenly and unexpectedly dislodged from underneath (S’s) body,” the lawsuit reads.

As a result, S forcefully landed onto the hard plastic surface of the slide, suffering “permanent catastrophic injuries,” the lawsuit alleges.

Now, S is accusing the company of negligence and failing to maintain safe premises, arguing that Disney had a responsibility to fix the “dangerous conditions” of the water slide.

In all, the lawsuit asks for over $50,000 in damages, the lawsuit shows.
