A man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle died at the scene of a crash in Sumter County.
The 22-year-old Dade City man was traveling northbound on County Road 476B at a high rate of speed at 5 p.m. Monday when he struck the rear of a tractor-trailer truck, driven by a 67-year-old Bushnell man, which was traveling northbound on County Road 476B and was stopped in traffic, awaiting the opportunity to turn onto County Road 631, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. He suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
