62-year-old Escambia County woman dies from injuries weeks after Alabama crash

A 62-year-old Escambia County woman has died from injuries sustained in an Alabama crash in mid-May.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says Mary Burt, of Walnut Hill, passed away last Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

The crash happened the evening of May 15 on Monroe County 45 near Matheny Road in Monroe County, Alabama.

ALEA says Burt was initially critically injured when the 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan she was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned. She was ejected during the crash.
