3 hospitalized after fire erupts inside Miami Beach condo laundry room

A fire broke out in the laundry room of a Miami Beach condominium on Tuesday morning, sending three people to the hospital, authorities said.

Miami Beach Fire Rescue responded at approximately 9:59 a.m. to the high-rise at 5005 Collins Ave., where crews quickly arrived and contained the flames, officials said.

Authorities said three individuals were transported for medical treatment — one to Mount Sinai Medical Center and two others to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Their ages, genders or conditions were not immediately released.

At the time of the fire, MBFR said electrical work was underway in the laundry room. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
