A Golden Gate Estates man was arrested after he was accused of throwing a water bottle into a vehicle during a road rage incident on Wednesday night.
C U, 25, faces three felony charges. According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Ureche was arrested after he admitted that he threw a green plastic water bottle out of his window and his mother brought him a bottle of water that matched what was found in the victim’s vehicle.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a possible shooting on Golden Gate Boulevard near DeSoto Boulevard at 8:58 p.m. A vehicle’s front windshield had shattered, and broken glass injured the driver and two passengers.
The victims told deputies that they heard what sounded like gunfire when Ureche, the suspect, drove by, according to CCSO. The driver also believed they were shot.
U told deputies that the victim was speeding behind, honked at and passed him, drove aggressively, cut him off, followed him, flashed the headlights and flipped him off, according to the report.
The victims had stopped at a restaurant, and the victim driver told deputies that U was the aggressor as the victim accused him of driving recklessly and brake checking them, according to CCSO’s report.
U faces the following charges of shoot/missile into a dwelling, vehicle, building or aircraft; criminal mischief; and aggravated battery great bodily harm, permanent disability or disfigure, according to the report.
