Deputies apprehended two notorious auto burglars after they reportedly recklessly drove a stolen vehicle through a residential area and crashed through a fence onto railway property.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) said that early on Tuesday morning, deputies noticed a car driving recklessly throughout a residential area.

According to IRCSO, the driver tried to evade the deputies, speeding down a dead-end road and breaking through a fence onto FEC Railroad property near the train tracks.

After the car crashed, the suspects fled from the vehicle, and multiple people jumped out and ran into the nearby area, per IRCSO.

Two suspects, who are allegedly known auto burglars, were apprehended by deputies shortly after.

Deputies said that the car had been reported stolen from St. Lucie County and was displaying a stolen tag from Indian River County.
