22-year-old motorcyclist dies in Bay County traffic crash

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal traffic crash on State Road 77 by the Tractor Supply on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a news release, the preliminary investigations reveal that a 22-year-old Panama City man was traveling on a motorcycle northbound on State Road 77 approaching a Tractor Supply’s entrance.

As the motorcyclist approached, the 69-year-old driver and the 69-year-old passenger of an SUV were exiting the Tractor Supply and entering the median crossover.

FHP said that the motorcyclist attempted to avoid the collision and, as a result, was partially ejected from the front of the motorcycle and collided with the SUV.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital, where he died due to the injuries sustained.

FHP said that the Next of Kin has been notified and was assisted on scene by members of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Department and Bay County EMS.
