 Authorities are investigating an incident that left a man dead and a woman injured Sunday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

At 6:45 p.m., HCSO responded to reports of a shooting in the 8300 block of Opal Street.

At the scene, deputies located a woman with three gunshot wounds and a man suffering from a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted.

An investigation indicated the two were involved in a verbal dispute, during which things escalated, resulting in the man allegedly shooting the woman.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.
