Police: Motorcyclist strikes driver in face with helmet in Sunny Isles Beach

A road rage incident Monday afternoon in Sunny Isles Beach led to a driver being hit in the face with a motorcycle helmet, police said.

According to an arrest report from the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, an officer was dispatched around 2:20 p.m. to 17700 Collins Ave. in reference to an assault and battery.

Police said the victim told the officer that the suspect, AJO, was riding a motorcycle when he cut the victim off on the road and then followed the victim to a parking lot.

According to the report, O, 31, of Miami Beach, then approached the car and became “verbally aggressive” towards the driver, leading to a physical altercation.

The officer said the victim claimed that O “came to his face again” and struck him in the face with his motorcycle helmet.

Local 10 News obtained cellphone video Tuesday which showed part of the altercation.
