A night out ended in handcuffs for two men at a North Naples sports bar after deputies say they were thrown out for groping a waitress, then got into a fight with security in the parking lot.
The incident occurred late Friday outside The Legends Sports Bar on U.S. 41. The bar’s manager said the men, who were underage and allegedly using fake IDs, were ejected for inappropriately touching a waitress.
“You’re just not allowed in the bar unless you’re 21,” said ER, a Naples resident and witness. “It’s pretty simple.”
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, ABO 19, and CBM 20, became aggressive after being removed. Deputies said the pair began shouting and physically confronting security guards in the parking lot.
“It was pretty aggressive,” said TB, another witness who viewed a video of the altercation. “The police were pretty aggressive with him.”
The video shows deputies tackling one of the suspects to the ground. Authorities say a taser was deployed during the scuffle.
Witnesses said the entire confrontation could have been avoided.
“Go do something fun without getting arrested,” B said.
Despite the disruptive scene, bar staff said they do not plan to press charges related to the initial incident involving the waitress.
“If you’re told the cops want you out of there, you just leave,” R added.
BM was charged with obstruction of an officer, while BO faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.
