The Fort Myers Police Department is on the scene of a deadly crash involving a bicyclist and a vehicle on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.
Police responded to the crash at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday near Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard and Winkler Avenue.
FMPD confirmed the deadly crash to WINK News.
Police confirmed the southbound lanes of Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard between Hanson Street and Winkler Avenue will be shut down for approximately 2 hours.
Reporter Camila Pereira is en route to the scene to gather more information.
Lee County EMS arrived on scene at around 8:09 a.m.
Police on scene have been redirecting traffic away from the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
