A man who was found Monday night with a gunshot wound to his leg on Florida Avenue died at the hospital, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said officers responded to Jacksonville’s Eastside around 9:20 p.m. because of a report that someone had been shot.
They found the man with a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Officers gave first aid until paramedics arrived, but the man died at the hospital.
Detectives are investigating, but the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown.
