Motorcyclist misses curve, hits light pole in deadly crash on Bartram Park Boulevard: JSO

A motorcyclist in his early 20s died Sunday after missing a curve in the roadway and crashing on Bartram Park Boulevard just after 10 p.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Bartram Park Boulevard when he missed the curve in the roadway, hit the curb, ran off the road and struck a light pole.

The rider died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police said. They did not say if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

This is the 80th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 19th involving a motorcyclist.
