Pedestrian critically injured in hit-and-run on Allison Avenue

A 27-year-old man was critically injured early Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on Allison Avenue near the Island Reserve Condominiums, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 2:43 a.m. The vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction. The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was found lying in the roadway and taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

FHP is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the agency as the investigation continues.
