The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash that left six people in serious condition on Saturday evening.

According to a news release, a 60-year-old man from Baker, Florida, was driving a pickup. He was stopped on westbound Mormon Temple Road due to a stop sign at the intersection of County Road C 180.

A 27-year-old female from Wing, Alabama, was driving an SUV was traveling west on CR C180 approaching the intersection of Mormon Temple Road.

The pickup truck entered the intersection and became an immediate hazard to the SUV; however, the SUV couldn’t stop in time. Officials said the front of the SUV struck the passenger side of the pickup truck.

Officials stated that the force of the collision caused both vehicles to overturn.

Both drivers were airlifted to a nearby trauma center.

Officials confirmed the SUV had a 29-year-old passenger and three minors who also faced serious injuries. In a report, two of the minors didn’t have seatbelts on. They were all transported by ground.

Troopers said the driver of the pickup was cited for the stop sign violation, and the driver of the SUV was cited for the unrestrained minors.
