Gunfire in Belle Glade killed a woman and injured a man Friday night, with deputies locating the suspect just blocks away.
Just before midnight on Friday, Road Patrol deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported to the 100 block of State Road 715 in Belle Glade for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies say they found a man and a woman suffering gunshot wounds.
The female victim succumbed to her injuries, and the male victim is expected to survive, per PBSO.
While at the scene, deputies also spotted the suspected shooter, later identified as 46-year-old Little M Wi, running just two blocks from the crime scene.
A records search for W revealed he had been convicted of multiple felonies, many of which are violent, dating back as far as 2009.
The suspect subsequently surrendered to PBSO without incident.
Deputies booked W for counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
