Bicyclist killed in Boynton Beach SUV collision; investigation underway

A 31-year-old bicyclist was killed after colliding with an SUV Friday night in Boynton Beach.

According to the crash report, just before 11 p.m., Juan Rolando Villeda Rivera of Boynton Beach was riding his bicycle southwest across South Congress Avenue at Buccaneer Road.

At the same time, a driver in a Toyota SUV was driving southbound on Congress Avenue in the inside lane.

PBSO says the nature of the crash is unknown at this time while traffic investigators investigate.

Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The SUV driver had minor injuries and was transported to JFK Hospital for unknown medical reasons.
