Officers arrested a man accused of sexually battering and strangling a woman he worked with at a restaurant.
Gainesville Police Department officers arrested AM, 25, on Wednesday on charges of sexual battery and battery by strangulation.
According to the arrest report, the victim says she and M left their job together and went to his apartment on Monday. He expressed his desire to engage in sexual acts that the victim said made her uncomfortable.
M then overpowered the victim and began grabbing her tightly. He bit her in multiple places before raping her.
The victim says she told M multiple times to stop and that she was in pain. He then choked her multiple times.
After the incident, the victim went to the ER, where a nurse told officers that the woman had bruises and a vaginal tear.
Officers arranged a recorded phone call between M and the victim, where he apologized for hurting her and said he got “ahead of himself.”
M was booked into the Alachua County Jail, and no bond is set as of this report.
