A Lake County man was arrested after allegedly pushing and punching his grandson in the chest during an argument over his mental issues.
An officer responded to a battery at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 2:55p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Upon arrival, the grandson of 76-year-old MFN advised that he pushed him in the chest during an argument over his mental issues.
The grandson did not fall to the ground, but N then punched him in the chest. He also pushed him again, harder than the first time. He sustained red marks and injuries to his right arm, the right side of his neck and the center of his chest, the report said.
N’s wife stated she heard the verbal argument in the garage but did not see the physical altercation, the report said.
After being read his rights, N advised that he and his grandson were in a verbal argument over his mental issues. He admitted to pushing his grandson due to him yelling and cursing at him as well as getting in his face. He denied punching him, the report said.
N was arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic) and transported to Lake County Jail. The New Jersey native was released after posting $500 bond.
