A bicyclist was airlifted to the hospital Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in northwest Miami-Dade, deputies confirmed.
According to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Detective Luis Sierra, the crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. as the vehicle was heading west on Northwest 103rd Street, approaching the intersection of 103rd Street and Northwest 30th Court.
“While entering the intersection, a bicyclist improperly crossed NW 103rd Street and the front of the vehicle collided with the bicyclist,” Sierra said in an email to Local 10 News.
According to Sierra, the bicyclist was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
No other details were immediately released.
