One person was hospitalized after a fire at a duplex in unincorporated Lakeland early Thursday morning.

The Polk County Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the 1100 block of Old South Drive around 3:00 a.m.

PCFR said one person suffered burn injuries after going back into the house and was transported to a nearby hospital.
