A man turned himself into authorities on Wednesday after he allegedly opened fire toward two people at Pembroke Gardens Mall.
Pembroke Pines Police said the shooting took place at the Pembroke Gardens shopping plaza located at 527 Southwest 145th Terrace on May 31 at around 2:38 a.m.
A man and a woman were standing by their cars in the parking lot of the Cigar Bar when the suspect, who appeared intoxicated, approached them and “a verbal argument ensued,” police said.
The suspect got in his car, “pulled up alongside the victims, and fired 3-4 gunshots in their direction before fleeing the scene in a black 2022 Toyota Corolla,” authorities said.
The man suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to the hospital, police said. The woman was not hurt.
Back in June, officials offered a $5,000 reward for the arrest of the suspect, before he had been fully identified.
Now, 28-year-old D P is charged with one count of attempted murder.
Police said after P was contacted by detectives, he turned himself in to Broward County Jail.
