Fire crews respond to propane tank explosion in Pompano Beach

Massive flames scratched the sky after several propane tanks exploded in Pompano Beach.

A large presence from Broward Fire Rescue was seen at Yard Waste and Bulk Waste near the area of 2780 North Powerline Road after dozens of propane tanks were reported to have exploded.

Cellphone video shared with 7News showcased the initial explosion.

7Drone Force hovered over the scene, where the north and southbound lanes of Powerline Road were shut down as crews continued to put out residual flames.

The aftermath showcased the charred propane tanks and the debris scattered as a result, as firefighters continued to monitor for hotspots.

The exact circumstances that caused the fire, as well as if any other structures or people were affected, are unclear.
