A speed boat caught fire on Sunday afternoon near the Three Mile Bridge in Pensacola.
Escambia County officials say the incident occurred around 12:28 p.m., at Wayside Park. Emergency crews arrived promptly to extinguish the blaze within minutes using a deck gun.
The boat’s owner and operator, who was the sole occupant, was rescued by a passing pontoon boat and reported no injuries.
Escambia County officials say the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard were notified, and the scene was handed over to FWC. The fire was under control by 12:50 p.m.
The U.S. Coast Guard stated that a good Samaritan had assisted in extinguishing the fire before their arrival.
The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature, according to Escambia County officials.
