Firefighter burned while battling house fire in Mixon Town area: JFRD

A firefighter with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was transported to a hospital Monday morning after being injured while responding to a house fire in the Mixon Town area, officials said.

The fire broke out around 11 a.m. inside a home on Broward Street.

JFRD told News4JAX the firefighter was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening burns.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
