A single-engine plane with two people on board ran into apparent mechanical problems shortly after takeoff and struck a Honda Accord on Wednesday.
The Cessna belonging to Aerostar Training Services LLC landed on Ham Brown Road near a RaceTrac on Orange Blossom Trail, photos sent to WESH 2 show.
From Chopper 2, you could see the Cessna 172 Skyhawk on U.S. Highway 17/92- OBT after it landed at 11:18 a.m. It took off four minutes earlier from Kissimmee Gateway Airport.
Osceola County Fire Rescue confirmed it is responding.
Two people were on the four-seater plane.
The maintenance director of the flight school declined to speak with WESH 2 News, but you could see oil sprayed across the nose of the plane near the engine. Later Wednesday afternoon, three people from the flight school were observed draining fuel and other fluids from the aircraft to prepare it for transport back to a maintenance hangar at the airport.
No injuries were reported, OCFR said, but the vehicle received minor damage.
