Deputies are investigating a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of U.S. 41 East and Bayshore Drive in Collier County.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash at 3:45 a.m. Friday. The victim, a man, sustained serious injuries and was flown to a trauma hospital.
All eastbound lanes of U.S. 41 East at Bayshore Drive are currently closed while deputies conduct their investigation.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed it was a hit-and-run incident.
There is no estimated time for when the road will reopen.
