Firefighter injured while battling blaze at Wesley Chapel apartments

A firefighter was injured while battling a blaze at a Wesley Chapel apartment complex Thursday night, officials said.

Pasco County Fire Rescue said crews responded to the Enclave Apartments on Nadine Road after receiving reports of a structure fire.

Crews spotted flames and smoke coming from the roof as they arrived on scene.

Officials said the building was evacuated as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.

One firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, a spokesperson for the fire department confirmed.

No other injuries were reported.

Authorities said the Red Cross was notified to assist residents impacted by the fire.
