20-year-old pedestrian from New York hit by 2 SUVs, killed on I-95 North in Flagler County:  Florida Highway Patrol

A 20-year-old man from New York City was killed early Friday morning when he was struck by two SUVs on I-95 northbound in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the man was standing on the outside shoulder of the highway around 3 a.m. Friday and, “for an unknown reason,” stepped into the outside northbound lanes of I-95.

Two SUVs that were headed north, both in the outside lane, were unable to avoid the pedestrian and hit him.

The man died at the scene.

A 51-year-old woman from Roanoke, Virginia, who was driving the first SUV, was not hurt.

A man and woman, both 74 from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and a 72-year-old woman from Levittown, Pennsylvania, who were in the second SUV, were also not injured.

All four were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
