Two injured following shooting in Jackson County

Two injured following shooting in Jackson County

Two people are injured following a shooting in Greenwood early Sunday morning.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to a call for service at 5685 Blue Springs Road in Greenwood, where multiple gunshots were reported at a large gathering.

While deputies were responding to the call, the Sheriff’s Office says they were notified that a gunshot victim was being transported to the hospital by personal vehicle.

Officials say investigators responded to the hospital and began trying to piece together what had occurred.

Police say two people with gunshot wounds were brought to the emergency room by personal vehicle and later transferred to another local hospital due to their injuries.

We’re told the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is working the investigation, processing the scene where multiple vehicles were struck by gun fire during the incident.

Anyone with any information on this case is encouraged to call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 850-482-9624.
