Tractor-trailer fire in Martin County halted I-95 drivers overnight

A tractor-trailer on I-95 South in Martin County that erupted in flames on Thursday night continued to block traffic on Friday morning.

Martin County Fire Rescue (MCFR) said that they responded to the fire at around 10:48 p.m. near Mile Marker 93 in Hobe Sound.

According to MCFR, the trailer was hauling dry food when it became fully engulfed in flames.

Officials said thankfully, the cab was detached before the flames spread.

In an update at 4:41 a.m. on Friday, Florida 511 said that the two right lanes are blocked.

As of 7 a.m., traffic maps showed that the lanes had been reopened.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
