A two-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two individuals after a head-on collision on Saturday afternoon in Baldwin County.
Troopers say the incident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. near the 54-mile marker, about two miles south of Stockton in Baldwin County.
The crash involved a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze and a 2021 Lexus RX 350 driven by a 15-year-old.
Following the collision, the Chevrolet Cruze caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames, according to troopers.
Both the driver and passenger of the Cruze were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending confirmation by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
The 15-year-old driver of the Lexus was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. A 51-year-old passenger in the Lexus, sustained injuries and was airlifted to USA Health University Hospital in Mobile.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is actively investigating the crash.
