Deadly crash investigation underway after red Tacoma goes airborne in Palm Springs

The Palm Springs Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that led to a red Toyota Tacoma going airborne and striking three additional vehicles.

According to police, the deadly five vehicle crash occurred at around 5:01 p.m. on Wednesday near Forest Hill Boulevard and Bell Lane.

The investigation revealed that a red Toyota Tacoma was traveling west on Forest Hill Boulevard when it suddenly struck a curb and lost control. The vehicle then proceeded to collide with a silver Dodge Avenger before it suddenly went airborne over a median, striking a white Nissan Rouge, a white Toyota Camry and a white Hyundai Veloster.

The driver of the red Toyota, identified as 34-year-old RRP, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Nissan Rouge and Toyota Camry were taken to the hospital.

Following the deadly crash, traffic was restricted for several hours.
