Truck flees after entering wrong lane and striking pedestrian in Citrus Springs

A man is seriously injured after he was struck by a pickup truck Saturday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a young man was walking north along the left side of North Golfview Rd at around 5:40 p.m.

A Toyota pickup truck was traveling north when it suddenly entered the southbound lane, struck the pedestrian and continued without stopping. The 21-year-old was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital.

The truck was captured by a neighbor’s RING camera, but the driver has yet to be identified.
