A man believed to be in his early 40s was found shot Tuesday night in the Pine Forest area and died at the hospital, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Police said officers were called to Paul Avenue around 10:11 p.m. Tuesday because of a reported shooting.
Officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, where he died.
Crime scene tape appeared to show the shooting happened in the garage or side patio of a home on Paul Avenue.
Police said two people have been detained and are being questioned by investigators, but it’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
