A 55-year-old Michigan man riding a motorcycle in Ormond Beach was killed in a crash Tuesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 1 near Pine Tree Drive, troopers said.
According to an FHP crash report, the motorcyclist was traveling south in the inside northbound lane of U.S. 1 as a 46-year-old Palm Coast man drove a sedan northbound on U.S. 1 in the same lane.
As a result, the front of the motorcycle struck the sedan just south of Pine Tree Drive, the report states.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene while the Palm Coast man was not injured, according to FHP. Troopers believe the Palm Coast man was wearing a seat belt during the crash and that the Michigan man was not wearing a helmet.
FHP is still investigating.
