The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the driver who wrecked their car into a home on Marseille Drive early Saturday morning.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s office said they tried to do a traffic stop on the car on Michigan Avenue, but the car fled from deputies.
When the car took off, the deputy slowed down, but followed the car without emergency lights.
The Sheriff’s office said the deputy then saw the car lose control and hit a curb at a high rate of speed. When deputies caught up to the vehicle, they found it had crashed into a home on the 4500 block of Marseille Drive.
The driver fled on foot.
The car’s front bumper broke through a brick wall of the home. The homeowners inside were not harmed.
The homeowners tell WEAR they were sleeping when they heard a loud bang and the house shook. When they walked downstairs, they found the front end of the car inside their home and the driver….no where to be found.
A perimeter was set up in the area and the Sheriff’s office drone unit and K9 unit were called into search.
The Florida highway patrol was called to the scene to investigate.
