A Stuart teen was killed and a 30-year-old woman was seriously injured when their car launched into a ditch at a dead-end road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 19-year-old man was driving an SUV southbound on Horizon Avenue at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and approached of dead end.
Instead of stopping, troopers say the teen drove the car off the roadway, down an embankment, and into a ditch where it came to a final rest.
Troopers say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 30-year-old passenger was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in stable condition with several broken bones.
FHP said the investigation is ongoing.
