A 25-year-old woman was pulled from a submerged vehicle in Lake Hayes on Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said she was traveling northbound on State Road 434, near Lake Hayes Road in Oviedo.
They said the vehicle ran off the roadway and into a retention pond at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Once units arrived at the scene, they confirmed there was a submerged vehicle in the lake.
FHP said that the woman was removed from the submerged vehicle and was being taken to a hospital. However, she was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
