A woman was shot Tuesday night while driving with a child in her vehicle in northwest Miami-Dade, deputies confirmed.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred just after 10:30 p.m. in the area of Northwest 16th Avenue and 74th Street.
Deputies said the woman and juvenile female were inside a vehicle when they heard the sound of gunshots before one of the vehicle windows shattered.
The woman, who had been shot in the upper extremities, then drove to the Northside District Station for help.
Deputies said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel transported the woman to a local hospital in stable condition.
Paramedics treated the girl at the police station. Deputies said she sustained minor cuts from the shattered window.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
