A fire erupted at a home along Temuco Street in the Deep Creek area of Charlotte County on Wednesday morning.
Charlotte County Public Safety officials said crews were dispatched to the fire at approximately 9:36 a.m.
A Ring Doorbell camera captured when a nearby worker told the next door neighbor that the home was on fire.
According to the agency, firefighters saw smoke and flames rolling out of the window of the front room.
Fire officials said no one was home at the time of the fire, but a cat and a turtle died.
The homeowner told Gulf Coast News they lost most of their belongings inside the home.
The Charlotte County Fire Marshal said the fire started in the bedroom and spread into the attic.
“It’s a lot of damage,” said Fire Marshal Scott Morris. “They are probably months without their homes.”
Neighbors were emotional after hearing the news.
“My wife and I will be praying for them,” said neighbor John Broucker. “I’m really sorry.”
The fire has been ruled an accidental electrical incident.
