Six people were shot outside of an apartment complex in Tampa Thursday morning, the Tampa Police Department announced.

TPD announced one person has died from their injuries.

Officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 1:00 a.m. at the 6000 block of Woodville Street regarding a shooting.

According to TPD, officers arrived and found three people who had been shot.

A 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he died from his injuries.

Officers said about 30 minutes later, they were dispatched to West Platt and South Willow Avenue, where two more people reported they were also shot at the apartment complex and were on the way to the hospital.

Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A sixth victim arrived at a local hospital later with non-life-threatening injuries, TPD said.

According to TPD, the three additional victims in the shooting are all men aged 22, 21, and 19.

An investigation found that all six victims were outside when they were shot.

“No family should have to endure this kind of pain. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this senseless gun violence. This will not be tolerated in our city,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Our detectives are working diligently to identify and bring those responsible to justice. We need the community’s help. If you saw something, heard something, or know something, come forward. Your information could be the key to giving these families the justice they deserve.”

TPD believes the shooting may have been from a previous dispute.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect and determine what led to the shooting.
