Escambia County crash leaves multiple injured, one trapped

A T-bone crash in Escambia County early Thursday morning resulted in multiple injuries and left one person trapped inside a vehicle, according to Escambia County Fire Rescue.

Emergency crews say the incident occurred at 2:41 a.m. at the intersection of E. Nine Mile Road and Palafox Street. when ECFR units responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, units confirmed the severity of the crash and began efforts to extricate the trapped occupant. ECFR stated they performed a partial side removal to gain access to the individual.

Once access was achieved, ECFR and Escambia County EMS collaborated to remove the patient and transfer them to an ambulance, where EMS continued to provide care, according to ECFR.

EMS units transported three patients to area hospitals for further treatment.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
