Police officers investigate shooting, teen’s injury in Fort Lauderdale

Police officers were investigating a shooting and a teenager’s injury on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale.

Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at about 430 p.m. at the 2400 block of Northwest 28 Terrace, according to Sgt. David Soika.

“Officers arrived on scene and found what appeared to be evidence,” Soika, a spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, wrote in a statement.

Fort Lauderdale police officers also responded at about 5 p.m. to the 2900 block of Northwest 24 Court and talked to a teenager who said he had been shot at, according to Soika.

“It appeared the juvenile had an injury to the finger which did not require medical transport,” Soika wrote. “At this time, it is unknown what caused the injury.”

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 to remain anonymous.
