Two people were sent to the hospital, one seriously hurt, after a school bus and two other vehicles collided in Ocala on Tuesday afternoon.
Ocala Fire Rescue crews say the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on West Highway 40 in front of the Red Roof Inn.
A school bus, an SUV, and a minivan crashed. No one on the bus was hurt.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the minivan was headed west on Highway 40 and attempted to make a left turn onto Northwest 40th Avenue.
The van entered the path of the SUV headed east on the highway, and the two vehicles crashed. The collision knocked the SUV into the front of the school bus, which was stopped at the intersection of 40th Avenue.
An 86-year-old woman from Double Oak, Texas, riding in the minivan, was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital as a trauma alert. Three others in the van had minor injuries, according to FHP.
The two men in the SUV, both Ocala residents, reported minor injuries.
