St. Cloud police are asking the public for help identifying the driver of an SUV involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash early Saturday.
The vehicle pictured at the top of this story — described as possibly newer-model Chevrolet Trax — was reportedly the first of two vehicles that struck a man attempting to walk across U.S. 192 (13th Street) around 4 a.m. Saturday, the St. Cloud Police Department said in a news release.
The SUV was traveling west along U.S. 192 near Tennessee Avenue, toward Kissimmee, when the crash occurred, the release states. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and has cooperated with investigators, police said.
Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle or its driver, including any dash-camera video or security footage in the area from around 4 a.m. Saturday, is urged to report it.
The SUV would likely have noticeable front-end damage, police said.
St. Cloud police asked that tips come to them at 407-891-6700 or StCloudFl.gov, or to Crimeline by calling 800-423-8477 or by visiting its website.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
