Two people are being transported to the hospital as officials shut down a road after a crash in Weeki Wachee.
Hernando County Fire Rescue is at the scene of the crash at Commercial Way and Knuckey Road. Officials said one person was extricated from one of the cars.
Pictures from fire crews show two cars involved, both with severe damage. The front of a Kia Soul is destroyed, and the driver’s side of a Nissan also appears to be crushed.
All northbound lanes of Commercial Way are closed until the crash is cleared.
